Lily Allen's next single is...

..."Not Fair". Above is a still from the upcoming video, where she'll most likely be channeling one of her heroines, Dolly Parton. I'm not sure I dig the choice to make this the next single because, first of all, I thought the highly superior and message-latent "Everyone's At It" would be next, and second of all this is my least favorite track on the new album next to "Fuck You" (yeah, I said it). But I'm sure the video will be absolutely delightful, and does our Lily not look wonderful?

Yeah. She does.

Lily Allen starts the American leg of her new tour on April 1 in San Diego and if you're in town, you'd better be there or be square.

Sample the first half of "It's Not Me, It's You"!

Okay, so this has apparently been around for five days but I JUST now found it. Lily Allen has decided to give us a little taste of the upcoming awesomeness It's Not Me, It's You! You'll get to hear:

1. Everyone's At It (my absolute favorite, unstoppable)
2. The Fear
3. Not Fair (ooh, country)
4. 22
5. Never Gonna Happen (OMG, HOT)
6. Fuck You (HA, cute for Christmas, eh?)

Get it HERE! Thank me later!

Trust me when I say they won't be able to put a genre on this one. Um, SO excited.

Lily Allen pulls a Mario!

OMG, I love Internet games more than... buttered toast. A little. So when I saw in my mail that Lily Allen has both a) a pretty new website for 09's surefire hit It's Not Me, It's You (call me biased, so what) and b) a Mario-esque "The Fear"-themed game, I totes freaked.

And you know what? You can play it right HERE! Avoid paparazzi, booze and ecstasy; listen to the fantastic new song "The Fear" as much as you like, and have fun with cute little computerized Lily! I know I will :-) (Play hard enough and you may win an autographed copy of It's Not Me, It's You-- which I could SO use.)Aww, look at her. I wanna be cute and pixelated. Make ME a game, dear Internetz!

2009, prepare for Lily Allen to stake her claim on you.

Lily Allen just announced her first tour dates of the year. Pop Justice has also already given a glimmering review of the forthcoming It's Not Me, It's You... meaning: it's SO on.

The eternal Lolita Hazed heroine entered 2008 with a determination to own it. After entering the American pop scene with her acclaimed debut Alright, Still and gaining both the control and interest of the public eye with her admirably brazen voice, she had both the clout and resources to make her sophomore album yet another hit. She was pregnant with boyfriend Ed Simons' baby, the new face of an upcoming Agent Provocateur collection and taking charge of BBC3 with her talk show, Lily Allen & Friends. But time passed and not only did she miscarry and get dropped from the Agent Provocateur campaign at the last minute-- she had to live under the constant scrutiny of the public eye. Since spring, she has a lot of well-deserved time to think things over, and she has come out stronger than ever.
Fans who have kept an eye on Lily this year are well aware she hasn't stopped working, nor has she let the small stuff get her down. She has instead spun her problems into gold, providing us with one good song after the other and perfecting the final touches on what I'm led to believe will be Lily's most personal and artistically-centered album yet. After all, Alright, Still was quite obviously more of a Mark Ronson production, and with all the tracks she's released lately, you can tell she's much more in charge of her sound now-- and she's certainly showing she handles the independence well! The songs she's been making are the best she's ever done, and not only do they stay true to her outspoken nature-- they show that in two years time, the eternally honest wild child has matured into a well-rounded young lady, her trademark sass developing a refined quality as she focuses less on shock and more on creating a general statement that is likely to strike the public more directly. With hot electro beats and very strategic lyricism, Lily Allen is poised to prove that she could change the world.

Pop's reigning brain is back with a vengeance, and this time, she's truly ready to show Planet Earth she means business. It's Not Me, It's You drops in UK record stores on February 9, 2009.

Lily Allen's new album is called...

...It's Not Me, It's You.
Perfect. So Lily. Much better than Stuck on the Naughty Step.

Here's the tracklisting:
1. Everyone's At It
2. The Fear (or "I Don't Know" / the new single, as you may know)
3. It's Not Fair
4. 22
5. I Could Say
6. Go Back to the Start
7. Never Gonna Happen
8. Fuck You (AKA "Guess Who Batman")
9. Who'd've Known (awesome, as I thought that wouldn't be released due to copyright issues)
10. Chinese
11. Him
12. He Wasn't There
(Order most likely not confirmed-- see here)

Preorder it here and you'll have it by February 10! I personally am waiting for Insound's pre-order to come around, as they always have adorable little presents that come with the CD's.
Couldn't. Be. More. Excited.

Here comes Lily Allen!

Lily Allen was in Bedfordshire yesterday filming the video for her brand-new single "The Fear", which I'm very excited for as this is one we haven't heard! I thought Lily said "Everyone's At It" was going to be the new single, but I guess this proves otherwise (second single, mabes?). Either way, it looks like this vid is going to not only be fun as usual, but also very beautiful. Lily's back in full swing, baby! These next four months are gonna be totes Lily-dominated, so get ready, 'cuz this album is gonna be hot! Isn't she as well? *Sigh*. Lovely Allen indeed.

Lily Allen keeps getting better and better!

If you've been keeping up with Lily Allen this year, she's released quite a lot of new songs, like "I Don't Know", "I Could Say", the not-to-be released "Who'd Have Known?" and "Guess Who Batman". Well just recently, she posted what will be her 2009 album's first single-- "Everyone's At It"-- and I'm wowed. It's the best she's done all year! It's exactly what fans have come to expect from her: on-point social observations, a healthy amount of piss-taking and of course, a whole lot of fun. Listen below and fall in love!

I swear. This girl gets me more and more excited for her album with every song she puts out. I love this woman so much.
Step back, ladies-- pop's reigning brain is back! (And we can breathe a collective sigh of relief.)

TMZ must be stopped: A Lolita Hazed Rant

If you've ever read my blog before, you will probably know how much I adore Lily Allen. I think the girl is unbelievably smart and knows what she's doing. So of course I was dismayed when I came upon this video.
TMZ is a bunch of fucking bastards who need to leave people the fuck alone. Chick is not doing anything wrong.
TMZ makes me so angry that I could scream. Their whole website is just an endless bounty of false promises-- videos of nothing but paparazzi hounding poor kids who chose a glamorous line of work.
I'll stop. I know people post rants exactly like this every day, but seriously. Go ahead and chase Miley Cyrus around as much as you want, but get the fuck away from Lily Allen.

All right. I'm done now. Whoo.

The First Blips of Lily Allen's Return

It's only April, and God damn, it's already been quite a year for our hero Lily Allen. She had a miscarriage, which ultimately caused her break-up with father Ed Simon of the Chemical Brothers, she was signed to be the new face of lingerie line Agent Provocateur and was dropped at the last minute, her talk show on BBC3 is apparently not doing amazingly well... but she is certainly not letting it keep her down.

As you may or may not know, Lily Allen's new album is due out later this year, and just recently, two of her tracks have been put on her MySpace. Just from a tiny listen, you can tell how Lily has grown.
"I Don't Know", slated to be the album's first single, is definitely a different turn from the feel of 2007's cheery smash Alright, Still-- her trademark sardonicism shows, but coming with a tinge of melancholy to replace the devil-may-care attitude of her earlier songs. But of course, it shows Lily has not lost her ability to effectively take the piss out of modern society, and somehow, this time, it is more real than it has ever been. It should certainly be a reminder of Allen's securely established role as the smartest woman in pop.
The second demo posted, "I Could Say", is also a synth-heavy break-up ballad, certainly secures what the tone of the album will be. By juxtaposing these two tracks that fit so well together, you can certainly tell the album will be techier, smarter and certainly more serious.
Just two little samples show how much Ms Allen has matured after the past few rough months of her life. She has come out of the fire like a phoenix: smarter, stronger, more responsible, and with more determination than ever before.
God, Lily, this is so different, but it's so totally brilliant. I can't wait for this album. Lily, darling, I'm on pins and needles to see what you've got up your sleeve!

I love Lily Allen.

In fact, I forgot how I much I do before tonight. I remembered how excited I am for her album that'll be out this year, so I went to her website and found a really quite amazing article from the UK Marie-Claire's February issue.
Ugh, I love this woman. Lily Allen knows her shit, there is no doubt about it. And the best part is that for all the people out there who criticize her, she gives less and less of a damn by the day.
I think that people forget that by entering the limelight, their humanity doesn't change. No matter how many people know your name, you are still just a human, not a relic or talisman or anything. Celebrities shouldn't try to censor themselves just to keep their images pure. It almost feels like a lie. Being human is so much more powerful. So what if Lily likes to drink in the day? I don't care. Bitch is human. She can do what she wants. She doesn't have to try and please the people by falsely manipulating her public image under a persona that the media has turned her into-- she just lives the way she wants. That takes a lot of guts.

Oh, and who else thinks this album's going to be amazing? Dude, I want a preview. Now.
I love this woman. Can't even describe how much.

Read the article in snippets.

Badass badass BADASS. God, this chick is not afraid.

Lolita Hazed's 2007 Hot List

10 hot items from '07

1. Lily Allen. Chick's been criticized all over the block, but God, is she a breath of fresh air. I dig her so much. Her debut album was splendid and I'm stoked for next, which is supposed to come out before her baby is due. (How about that, anyway? Kids these days.)
2. Mooka Kinney. Alison Lewis & Rachel Antonoff are total sweethearts. Their creations were also seen all over this year on the bods of supermodels, Zooey Deschanel, Scarlett Johannson (sp?), and certainly more to come. (I'm wearing their swan dress in my profile picture!)
3. Nu rave. It's dumb now, of course, but that shit was hot while it lasted. Here's hoping that next time, it actually IS stuff to rave to. Klaxons are kick-ass, but they're nothing to get the glowsticks out to, save for "Atlantis to Interzone".
4. CSS. First gaining attention while touring with the Klaxons, these kids got a lot of well-deserved attention this year. These kids from Sao Paulo are certainly repping it to the fullest! (Chances are you heard them in the iPod Touch commercial.)
5. Mark Ronson. Even hotter than the lady at #1 was the man behind her-- Mssr Mark Ronson, the man responsible for the popularity of both the notorious Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. Those hot horn-driven beats? All Mr. Ronson.
6. Judd Apatow. God, is there ANYWHERE this guy wasn't this year? Dude was fucking everywhere. I'm not saying it bugged me-- quite contrary. Knocked Up was exactly what comedy needed: a healthy dose of realism. We'll be seeing a lot of this wunderkind in years to come.
7. Ed Banger Records. The company's been around for awhile, but 2007 is the highest they've ever come. The much-awaited release of Justice's debut, †, was a milestone for the previously tiny little record company that is now covering all of Paris.
8. Claw Money. You may not have heard of this lady in past years, but in 2007, the badass femme graffiti artist started to make her way into today's street-artist elite. With her hella sweet (and highly-coveted) Nike-collab kicks (Blazers, Vandals), she also started to make her way onto the bodies of the famous (M.I.A., Mena Suvari, Lil' Mama are some).
9. Bat for Lashes. Natasha Khan is nothing if not amazing. Fur and Gold was a breathtaking debut and Khan and her ladies have made a sure profession of weaving eerie fairy tales into music. I'm on pins and needles to see what they they have up their sleeve next year!
10. Josh Schwartz. This dude's everywhere, too. His debut TV series The OC might be over, but Schwartz didn't take that lying down-- he also popped out Gossip Girl and Chuck, which have both been getting mad rave reviews and are picked up for second seasons. Guy's getting love and he deserves it. Make way for the next Aaron Spelling, bitches.

Love Letter: Missbehave

Dearest Missbehave,

When Nylon stopped being genuine and started shooting for an anorexic club-hopper audience, my heart sank. I thought I'd never love again.
Until there was you.
You came into my life, and became the first magazine I've ever read cover-to-cover. Your badassed fearlessness was enough to just break my lil' heart. And what with the coolest cover chicks ever? Lily Allen? Mena Suvari? M.I.A.? Amazing. Beautiful covers every time. But Missbehave, you've taught me that sometimes what's inside is as good, if not better than, the outside.
You've taken articles teen magazines would have, but polished 'em up and made them awesome so we can read them. Trap a boyfriend? Stick it to your ex? I love you for that.
You've kept me entertained during the most boring of school days and were there on stormy days where all I had was you and a warm fire.
You're so fun and unafraid. God, do you rep it. (Ever since Issue #4 came out, I've started collecting you. All I need now is #1 and #3.)
Love you to pieces and pieces. Saw the picture of the upcoming Issue #6 with Lydia Hearst on the cover. Hella eye-candy. Must have it right now.

Y from a hypnotized devotee
